Absentee ballot requests by mail for the 2024 Primary Election are available now through May 20th at the Lucas County Auditor's Office.

The responsibilities of the County Attorney are prosecuting violations of the laws of the State of Iowa, and of County Ordinances. The county attorney is also the legal advisor for the Board of Supervisors in Lucas County.
The county attorney is a part-time position held by Brandon J. Shelton of Shelton Law Firm. All county attorney business takes place at the Shelton Law Firm office, not the courthouse.
