Director/Lead Environmental Public Health Inspector

ADLM Counties Environmental Public Health, is seeking a full-time Director/Lead

Environmental Public Health Inspector, preferably with a Bachelor's degree with

major coursework in the natural or physical sciences or related fields and/or

applicable experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.  One year of

experience in public health, environmental health, or related field preferred.

This position will potentially transition into the Environmental Public Health

Director position with management, supervisory, and enforcement duties.  Duties

will include performing field and office work for the environmental public health

programs.  Primary Food Inspector performing inspections and regulation of food

establishments and maintain National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards,

back up Inspector for private sewage disposal system inspections, swimming

pool and spa inspections, tanning and tattoo establishment inspections,

abandoned well-plugging, well rehabilitation, new well construction, water

quality, public health nuisance, hazards and other general health concerns.  Skills

in organization, keeping accurate records, and ability to analyze laws, rules and

local ordinances are required.

Successful candidate must be able to work in a team-based environment and

have effective technical, written and verbal skills.  Must be able to use a 

computer and have familiarity with:  Basic data entry, Word processing, Email,

Internet, and Presentations.

Valid State of Iowa Driver's License, reliable transportation, and ability to obtain

car insurance at agency specified liability level.  Residency is not a requirement

but must be able to report to work on time.  Salary range will be based on

education, and/or experience.  Base pay will start between $21.00 and $23.00

per hour.  IPERS Retirement, BC/BS Insurance paid for Employee, and $25,000

Life Insurance.

Lucas County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections

Notice of Intent to Fill Vacancy of the Lucas County Auditor and Commissioner 

of Elections By Appointment Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 69.14A & Letter of

Interest for Consideration of Appointment

       Notice is hereby given that the Lucas County Board of Supervisors of Lucas County,

Iowa, intends to fill the pending vacancy of the Lucas County Auditor by appointment due to

the retirement of Julie L Masters Lucas County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections.  Said

appointment shall be for the period until the next pending election as defined in Iowa Code

Section 69.14 and shall be made within forty days after the vacancy occurs on December 31,

2026.

     The person appointed to fill the vacancy shall have resided in Lucas County sixty days

prior to the appointment pursuant to Iowa Code Section 69.14A (1)(a)(1).  Anyone requesting to

be considered for the vacancy may send or deliver a letter of interest and resume to:  Lucas

County Auditor, 916 Braden Ave., Chariton, IA 50049, on or before 3:30 p.m. on November 6,

     Said appointment is scheduled to take place during the January 4, 2027, Lucas County Board

of Supervisors' meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Supervisors' Office at the Courthouse , 916 Braden Ave.,

     Notice is further given that the electors of Lucas County have the right to file a petition in 

accordance with the Code of Iowa 69.14A requesting a Special Election to fill the Vacancy.  Said

petition shall be filed with the County Auditor within fourteen days after publication of this

notice or within fourteen days after the vacancy is filled by appointment.  The petition shall meet

the requirements of Code of Iowa 331.306 which, in part, states the petition must be signed by a

number equal to or greater than at least 10 percent of the votes cast in the County for the office

of president or governor at the preceding General Election.
